Canyon Ferry Mansion Bed and Breakfast is the ideal location to relax and unwind. Located next to Canyon Ferry Lake, Montana’s premier sportsman’s lake, the Mansion lies between the Elk Horn and the Big Belt Mountains, adjacent to the Canyon Ferry at the Missouri River Wildlife Refuge. The refuge lies just north of the famous Crimson Bluffs on the Trail of Lewis & Clark and is known for it’s sixty-seven kinds of Bird species, Antelope, Deer and Moose, Fox, Coyote, Wild Turkey, Sand Hill Cranes and Pelicans.

The refuge, all within walking distance, encompasses a 6.5 Mile Hiking Trail out on the dikes where the Missouri flows into the Lake. The Mansion sits on about 6 acres, just 33 minutes from the Capitol of Montana, Helena, with a panoramic view of Mount Baldy and the Twin Sister Peaks across the lake. It is one of the only full service B-n-B near this popular fishing lake for two to thirty miles in any direction.

Once the Palatial Home of famous railroad contractor, entrepreneur and King of the Hereford Kings, AB. Cook, the mansion was built in 1914 and completely renovated and restored to its original grace and majesty in 1999. Enjoy the elegance, grace and charm of a turn-of-the-century luxury mansion, coupled with warm hospitality and a relaxed casual sports lodge atmosphere, surrounded by the peace and quiet of a country setting.

Settle down into one of our seven spacious guest rooms or two quaint cabins, each individually decorated with beautiful antiques, historic wallpaper and cattle-baron furnishings. The history of this home and the Cook Family played significant roles in bringing fame and fortune to Montana and Broadwater County, and it’s legacy continues till today. The innkeepers Steve and Sandy Rose will personally share this fascinating story over Hors d'Oeuvres or breakfast.

Enjoy a starlit night that only the Montana "Big Sky" can offer. Indulge yourself in the warmth of our Large Jacuzzi and let the heat of our Sauna, Suntan or Steam Closet assist you in a total summer or winter vacation experience all year round. The Mansion is surrounded in the summer by Green Grassy Lawns and Big Cottonwood Trees, all fed by our natural steaming Warm Springs, once a popular camp site for Indians and Traders.

Arise in the morning to the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and an elegant table setting awaiting a delectable, full Cattle Baron Breakfast fit for any king prepared by our professional chef and staff. This is the ultimate way to start off your day of outdoor activities in the local area. Come join the Canyon Ferry Mansion hosts Sandy owner/concierge and Steve Rose owner/chef and experience their warm, friendly Montana hospitality. The Roses have 36 years between them in Hosting Montana to visitors. Experience the “Mystery and the Majesty of the Mansion!"

Romance & Pampering… your craving ? The Canyon Ferry Mansion offers more services and Menu selections in their basic Bed & Breakfast Package than any other Bn’B establishment in Montana. The Roses will welcome you personally, with a friendly and informal hors’dourve snack to be enjoyed by one of 4 large fireplaces or on the sloping lawn. You may request an ice cream dessert before bed.

Because of Canyon Ferry Mansion’s setting, it can also double as a Reunion, Hideaway, or Wedding Location. Ask about Group Discounts. Sandy will be glad to arrange a Hay Ride or Sleigh ride down by the Lake and Back, or how about a Cowboy Poet, Western Fiddler, or Two Step Band for your group or event.

Booking Suggestions; Reservations are suggested. Only book for days you are sure of. Take a chance the room will be available for extra days. Do book definite plans for week-ends in the summer. Montana is short on rooms in the summer especially in Helena due to the high visitation rates for the Lewis and Clark Trail Festivities, plus other events, rodeo, and summer concerts. Book a central location and drive in a spoke pattern. Leave early and leave extra gear at your lodging location. Going from Motel to Motel is a waste of time and doesn’t allow for a restful visit or to let you really get to know the area.
